Large amounts of unlicensed medications have been taken by Department of Health officials during a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about illegally importing and subsequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines through the web.

The 47-year-old was also questioned about other medication offenses.

He will now be the topic of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was carried out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its workplace, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medications can be dangerous.

"These types of products being offered, generally online, have actually gone through no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their security.

"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these items were made in. More notably, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
